Jane married her life-long sweetheart Joseph Francis Pope in 1945 following Joe's Navy service. They moved to the Jersey Shore where together they raised their family of two daughters and three sons. They relocated to Winter Park, FL in 1970, and, following her husband's death Jane relocated to Ormond Beach in 1997.

Jane was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In past years Jane was active in P.T.A, a school volunteer, played bridge and enjoyed golf with Joe in Winter Park, FL and in her later years enjoyed golf with the Prestwick Niners of Plantation Bay. Jane especially enjoyed being a member of the conversation group in Plantation Bay. She was also a member of Prince of Peace Church.

Her passion for writing poetry began in 1950, and, she published a collection of her work in "The Music of a Poem" in 2005 and continued to write poetry until her health became poor. She is a past member of the Tomoka Poets of Ormond Beach and the Florida State Poets Association. Jane's legacy will remain as her passion and zest for life shined brightest among her family and friends. She was full of laughter and joy. She gave love unconditionally and took time to appreciate children and the beauty of nature.

Jane is predeceased by her sister Loretta Polverino and is survived by her brothers George McGuire of Ormond Beach and Walter McGuire of Lake Placid, FL.

She is also survived by her children Frank Pope (Irene) of Roseville, CA, Barbara Grigat (Bill) of Ormond Beach, Joel Pope (Terri) of Orlando, FL, Michael Pope of Ormond Beach and Lori Ryan (Tim) of Ormond Beach. In addition to one cousin, several nieces and nephews, Jane has seven granddaughters, Irene Pope, Dr. Kimberly Pope-Robinson, Erin Martinelli, Tara Thacker, Karrie Harman, Meghan Ryan and Taylor Ryan. She also has six great grandchildren Sara Martinelli, Mary Katherine Thacker, Vivian Thacker, Leena Harman, Liam Harman and Luke Harman.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to your favorite charity .

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Craig Flagler Palms. A Memorial Gathering will be on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, from 4:00PM-6:00PM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, FL.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, 10:00AM at St. Brendan's Catholic Church, 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd., Ormond Beach, FL. Inurnment to follow at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens, Flagler Beach, FL.
